i'm so thankful that the All Saint/Souls' Day fell on two days before the weekends, which obviously gave us 4 days rest from work!!!! hurray!!! yipee to the max!!!

yes, i am so shallow for being this happy because me and adrian are wishing to have a vacation, as in kahit vacation-stay-at-home lang. with this,we can bond more with Sean, more me-time (when Sean is asleep) and catching up with our comfort "activities."

Comfort activities include: fb, twitter, reading blogs, playing ipad apps, movie marathon, malling and reading books!!!

i also want to declutter our room (not a comfort activity, haha!!!) but destressing for me... i'm an OC a little bit... a little bit compared to my mom but OC super to my friends... :D

Papa Tony

Today is my papa-in-law Mr. Antonio H. Melo's 62nd birthday. A very nice man with generous and understanding heart. He might possess the looks of a brave and strict military man, but even my sister-in-law would agree that he is the best Father-in-Law every gal could wish for! He cooks, he plays FB games, he plays with kids a lot... He loves going to malls and more cool stuff...

Sem's Last Day of Grad School

wow... I am so excited for this day... Last day of Grad school for this sem means no weekends at school till 3rd week of Nov. yipeeee!

Pot and Neng

Yesterday, October 6, was a multi-celebration for our family. Aside from its our moms' birthday (its their 60th), it is Pot and Neng's wedding day. Pot, Joseph, is my youngest bro-in-law and of course his lovely wife Neng, Lawrence. The ceremony was held at St. Therese (bucket list) church at Talisay, Lipa City. It was a very nice and solemn wedding. The weather cooperated. The choir with a singing priest was awesome.

I was assigned to distribute the flowers. I wasn't able to perform well coz, the 'abays' were already there when we arrived.

My dad and mom are one of the principal sponsors. Uman (Norman), Adrian's brother is the best man and their two childern was also part of the entourage. A lot of Adrian's relatives were there, nagmistulang Reunion... Ang saya...

Kakapagod nga lang ang baby Sean, though Yaya inay Nory was there, he always wants me, as in ayaw nya sa yAya pag im around. The good thing was, those who haven't seen me for a while thought that i lost some weight coz of Sean... Hmmm, i like that, hehe... Walang bawian... :D sulit ang pagod kapag ganyan ang mga comments (compliments)...

The reception was held at CAP, near Lipa Bus Terminal.... The place is nice, not that spacious though... Sobrang dami kasing dumating, as in, mukang nasa 200 ata yon. The program is so matagal, hehe... Probably gutom na most of us... Nagmoment ang in laws ko with their prepared messages (lalo na ang Papa), hehe... I love the part that they called our two moms to blow their cake candles... Part of the program din sila and the wedding dance... Dancing in the tune of  the tagalog version of "Grow Old with You."

I was also in-charge to usher the principal sponsors at the recption, kami ng aking bilas na si Syrill. Ok naman, medyo comfortable naman ako kasi ang mom and dad ko ay andun lang. Nakakatuwa din yong part na exhange gifts ang mga moms namin.

Research Forum

My first and hopefully not my last!

Today's Graduate Research Forum of CEAFACS is part of BatStateU's Foundation Day celebration. Aside from AGSEC, the EE, ECE and CpE departments joined forces to make this event a reality.

I am one of the presenters and my research is called ASMT. That's actually the system's name. The title of my study is AUTOMATED MEASUREMENT TOOL for GSM OUTDOOR RF SIGNAL.

Sounds heavy huh... Quite yes last 2005, but now I dont think so...

I'll post later the details...

Unproductive day

I call this day "unproductive" coz, despite of the plans of working and finishing a lot of chores in the office, I ended up in our bedroom crying in pain. I just hope I get better soon.

Long weekend!

Today is the last day of the August long weekend! We didn't go out like what others did... We pretty much stayed at home and spent time with baby Sean... Yesterday, we shopped for some groceries and decided to watch The Expendables 2 and also had our pizza date while watching! The movie was great, I loved it!

My weekend/vacation was not that good 'coz I am bothered with some colleagues at work. I thought we already got rid of the ugaling bukids! Grrrr... I call those who are moody, matampuhin na wala sa lugar as ugaling taga-bukid. Sorry for the word! It's also very unprofessional!

What makes  me more upset is that I've wrote them a msg on FB and I didn't get a reply. Wow, it's like I've done such a big mistake and i am being punished? Hayyys... It's really very hard to put together work and personal relationships!

FRI: Fridays TGIF no more... It's still work work work... There were lots Of enrolees of Graduate programs and undergrad students adding subjects! I planned to have a meeting but I still have to finish the CPE loadings and schedule. Good that Jigz, sir Lloyd, Melvin and sir Erwin stayed with me and they tried to finish the class schedules of IT and CS.

SAT : We continued all the work, we were at the ICT office. As usual, Jigz was there, and he invited Amy and Rovelyn. Eric was also there who also helped in finishing the schedule.

Just like what Lloyd says... Pag si mam Princess, ang official time ay 4. 4ever...

Today, we went to Lipa... With MA, Sean , ate Nory and daddy Butchoy. Aside from his the bagyo (Typhoon's name is BUTCHOY), today is his day... father's day! This is his 2nd and thanks to our super cute and lovable son Sean.

2nd Day
Meeting with the VPAA (academic Affairs) regarding some PTC stuff... Set-up of a new office, attended a faculty applicants' demonstration and still finishing the faculty loading and schedule... Ooops, students' adding, dropping, OJT applications on the side. Hehe... I also had a meeting with janitors... My greatest concern is the maintenance of not only the classroooms but AlL the RESTROOMS! All floors must be dry... No stinky smells please... The 3 janitors (2 are actually tresses) were very nice and helpful to me actually during the office set-up. I am still planning to make it up to them today. I also asked the assistance of the 2 ICT people, Paolo and Bernard, they provided me one set of PC, telephone line and internet connection.

My staff, Mhean, was very helpful as well...I even asked her to write down all the things I want her to do... She labeled all the room doors... She put up tables in our new office... She got some supplies from the Dean's office... Etc.

Ok, the highlight of this post is actually about Ryndel, if you'll gonna check my I Like You tab in this blog, he is one of those persons that I admire. Explanations were written there. Yestaerday, he had his teaching demo and panel interview. I was there as the faculty expert, doc chua was the dept chair, the Dean was there and two other faculty members from the main campus, which clearly explained why he obviously got nervous! According to him, he was so prepared and all but he was teally nervous and distracted. When it comesto the lesson he presented, he delivered it quite well... He knows the topic very well and he really tried to converse well (as in di sya nagtatagalog, hehe,!) syempre I gave hi, high grades and he's on top of the list that I preferred to be hired.

I'll try to add up later... I really gonna go... Should be very early at school...

Btw...
Yesterday was sweldo day, so me and my Bagyong Butchoy (yes, the name of the current typhoon is Butchoy) went on a grocery shopping, or better to put it as medicine shopping, haha! Aside from Sean's milk, a lot of Butchoy's eye maintenance were bought and some stuff for home use. We also had an Andok's date... We both had Sizzling chicken, we. Oth love it! It looks like chicken floating on mushroom sauce flood! Haha... But it was great. We also had Bicol Express (all sitaw), my favorite! Lahat naman yata favorite ko, hehe... We also went inside Sm to buy other stuff that are not available in Mercury. We bought Siopao for pasalubong.

When we got home, our newly haircut Shaolin baby was so happy... He gave us big hugs... Tanggal lahat ng pagod. I hope I can post pictures of him later... He had pictures during his hair cutting and it shows that he enjoyed it! As in all smiles!

First Day

Not so bad for a first day. We had a meeting with Dr. Aloria (Dean). He gave me a Job Order staff, Mhean, (another Mhean)... I'm still looking for an office, hopefully, the room beside the faculty room. There were some concerns also that I dealt with but nothing big so far... I had to revise the faculty loadings (thanks to the help of sir Erwin) and today a lot of changes will be done with the schedules.

Late afternoon when Adrian got home (earlier than I did), he texted me that he's not feeling well. He had a fever (38.2C). Probably because of the changing weather. Thanks God, he's ok now and he will be going to work today.

We missed Sean, he slept at his GRannie's room because we are afraid he might catch adr' flu. My mom told me that they wasn't able to sleep because Sean kept on moving here and there. Haha... Sean is malikot whether he's gising or tulog! :D

We missed his vaccination schedule yesterday, hopefully they will still consider him today. (brgy Health Center).

(funny) here's this movie Kimidora 2 that is currently showing in movie theaters and I am being teased that she is my look-alike, Eugene Domingo!!! Funny because i also guess so! I was like, "hey guys do you want free tickets of my movie?" the young faculty members watched it yesterday and I will be hearing a lot of comments today for sure!

I still have tons to do and can't wait to be back at the office.

Asso. Dean

It sounds nice and flattering - it was announced yesterday that I am appointed as the Associate Dean of the College of Engineering (AFCS) - Informatics and Computing Sciences. I am not happy but I am grateful. I am not happy because I will miss my ICT Services family. I am not happy because I am scared I might not meet a lot of people's expectations. Iam grateful because a lot of my friends beleive in me and promised that they will be there for me.

Wish me luck in this new journey.

Losses

Yesterday was a not-so-good good Sunday sports day for me. My Boston Celtics losE Game 7 to Miami Heat and Manny Pacquiao was defeated by Timothy Bradley. I am so broken hearted. :(

Sometimes, (most of the time when i'm in the office) it feels like time runs so slow... Probably coz there's not much to do in the office nowadays. I do have lots of (other) things to do though...
1. the manual for the subject that I always teach during first semester ---> Discrete Math... This has been long overdue... It's not that easy coz of the symbols and the numbers. I wish I can still draft even some chapters... It would easier for me especially in giving seatworks and assignments. 


Most are family/personal stuffs, like... 


2. Organize and clean Up our bed room... (Renovation, total renovation pls...) 


3. Have a facial, foot spa and all relaxing stuff... 


4. I wanna travel, like a vacay, kahit 3 days lang with hubby, kahit malapit din lang... 


*** Kahit isa lang, sana me mgawa ako beofre 1st sem starts (June 13).


Anyways, i'm still blessed with awesome co-workers that I still find it fun in the office. Yesterday, we have this song, Somebody I used to know by Gotey,  that kept on playing from Lloyd's (our net admin)computer... So the whole day Somebody..........  super LSS (last song syndrome). 

I also enjoyed solving problems/conflicts with students, parents, some office personnel during this period of enrollment... Conflicts like they cannot have their grades printed coz they are still not cleared from certain office... Parents who want their son/daughter change sections so that they will have better schedules... Office staff who keeps on posting not-so-nice stuff on FB during working hours... Offices who, at the peak of enrollment, went to a Teambuilding (so insensitive of them)... And some small stuffs... That in some point I sometimes ask my boss' help when I can no longer handle the situation.


I also had some friend/relative stuff that I attended to... My best friend, mama Glendz, is having problems with her marriage License (she got married with a German, just this April)... Unfortunately, the secretary in the Cityhall (San Luis, Bats) forgot to enter the marriage license number on the certificate and I don't know why checking is not being done these days, it has been authenticated with such error ( such a ___ mistake!!!!) ... Which now will cost her big time and will make them wait months for it to be corrected... Some court hearings might also be needed... Hayys... I feel bad or, let me be honest, I get mad... when somebody is being burdened with things that they should not be responsible of... I told her to let the person-in-charge in the City Hall to solve the problem and never pay for fixers or anything unofficial... Another thing that pissed me off... she was told that the Registrar is not available till Monday next week... And that's it? Nobody is in charge while the Registrar is away???? 

Worst part, I had to talk (just Fb msg) to a friend (how I wish i can write here our not-so-nice History, a lawyer friend who works at the Immigration (Cris V), to consult about this... He commented a lot, a lot of technical stuff, which I guess helped Glendz a bit... But I just didn't like that he finds everything to be Politics... Of all people... Anyways, it feels awkward now talking to him... I miss those times that we were good friends... I hate that he was so civil now and formal...


Another thing, (which I might not elaborate anymore, coz i might be late for work, haha), is that I guided my sis-in-law (bilas) to take the entrance exam at BatStateU Lipa Campus... I did everything thru texts, FB msgs and phone calls... I am so proud of her despite of her age (30's and with 3 kids) she decided to go back to school...

Lipa

Sunday is family day! In-laws day! The usual visit... We were showered with lots of food. Sean was pampered as usual with lots of foods and gifts by his lolo Papa, lola Mama and lola Titas...

'Twas a tiring day, we had to stay at SM and at the office before we left for Lipa coz Daddy Bochoy was at a Masters Defense, he was a panelist. So we left quite late and had to come back soon because M.A., my dear nephew the driver still has a basketball game to catch.

I really love the weather in Lipa... We were told that it rains almost everyday at noontime...

We also dropped by at San Vicente church for our Sunday church visit...

Fiesta and rebond

Yesterday was a fiesta day (talumpok, bats city). I was with adrian, Mama Glendz, Ghie, baby Sean and M.A. Sean, among us, was the one who truly enjoyed. He ended up wearing only his undies because of too much heat in Ate Mhean's house. The food was superb, especially the super huge , mala-embotidong lumpiang shanghai. I also loved the graham cake. I just didn't like the loud Videoke, as in we had to shout all the time so that we could hear each other. The best part, mhean gave us to-go foods, sakin ung pinakamarami, love you atih!

About 4:30 until 9:00pm my hair was rebonded... It was tiring and I got so hungry, haha! The result was nice, i love it! New look!

BEA

I just came from BPI and deposited two checks (work related). I super appreciate BEA ( BPI Express Assist). No more long line and no need to fill-up forms. The transaction is already automated where information is entered on a touch-screen kiosk. When your done with all the info needed, a queue number will be printed and the customer could simply sit and wait for his/her queue number to appear on the television screen. Only little confirmation will be done on the teller which I guess is still necessary for the accuracy and security of transactions.

Logic Circuits

I couldn't explain my happiness when I (with the help of my boss) was able to help some students with their breadboard experiment in Logic Circuits... it should be a NO BIG DEAL coz I am teaching the subject, but its not as simple as the experiments I give to my students... 

It has something to do with the IC (Integrated Circuit) 7447, 74192, 555 timer and 7 segment display.

The display must count up from 0 to 9 while the LED connected to the pulse is blinking. It took me awhile (i'm in the office) and lots of help from my boss and a couple of googling for it to work... it turned out that one of the pins (MR or CLR) MUST BE 0 or connected to ground so that the 74192 will start to count.

Last Sunday, May 13, me and my bochoy had another super date! This time, a date in SM Megamall. Syempre para na naman kaming mga bata na luluwas na naman. :)) We actually missed having dates in Manila.

We arrived in Megamall at almost 10am, so the mall is still closed so we decided to have a breakfast first in McDonald's. Kain agad...  The first store we went to was Filbar's (magazine), followed by Egg (bags, etc.) and then we spent a lot of time in Toy Kingdom. Halos nalibot namin buong Mega A and B, including restrooms. Parking lot lang yata ang hindi. :))

The store where I enjoyed most is FOREVER 21... I bought an accessory...(another bucket list task accomplished, cheers!) A set of two 2 gold rings, I love it!

I tried some high heeled shoes, syempre try lang, saan ko naman isusuot yon... and I love a lot of their earrings and rings, kaso just the same, I don't have the courage to buy things that I am not sure are worth enough spending.

Anyways, madami pa din naman kaming nabili... mga SALE!!! That is one thing I like at big malls, pag SALE eh magaganda pa din ang items. Unlike here, pag SALE parang mga sobrang napagpilian na, hehe... I bought 3 blouses, 1 pair of flipflops, pasalubong na tin can coin purse for papa Eric, ring from F21. Adrian bought 2 shirts, 1 from American Boulevard (Lakers) and 1 from The Tshirt project (TVJ iskul bukol) and Ironman mask (para daw kay Sean, kanya naman, hehe)...

We had lunch at PANCAKE HOUSE. We didn't really enjoy the food, pero busog to the max pa din, as usual. Adrian had chicken, macaroni salad and taco while I had spaghetti and burger steak. For pasalubong and food namin sa byahe, nag-takeout ako ng iba ibang breads from Bread Talk. 

We actually enjoyed every second of this love date. It was actually Mother's Day so I consider that as Adrian's gift.

SB & YC DATE

Folded Pizza

Yesterday was a day date again with my super hubby! After work, we headed to SM and had a big meryenda/dinner. I bought (to go --> Yellow Cab) two Grande of Starbucks Cookie Crumble (yum yum). Adrian, on the other hand, was at Yellow Cab ordering two FOLDED PIZZA (mine is the chicken slices and his was pepperoni).

We both loved it. The pizza was superb, I really like it because of the greens. I put
a lot of chili pepper flakes and wooo, it's oh so good! the sweetness of the SB cookie crumbles blend in!

Since we were still bloated, we decided to take a walk and di maaring hindi pupunta sa Toys ang aking super hubby!!! he was looking for this IRON MAN figure na TONY STARK or at least daw napapalitan ang ulo o mukha. but to his disappointment, alaws syang nakita. dati daw meron and may nakita daw sya on the net pero wala kami nakita kahapon. :(

we also dropped by at Jollibee, we bought 2 orders of spaghetti for mom and dad and regular yum for King.

when we got home... Sean is almost asleep, but when he heard our voice bigla syang bumangon and super big smile..

Swimming

'twas a roller coaster ride going to Sampaguita Beach Resort in Bauan.

The resort was fine, except that I expected a better beach... it's kinda rocky as in big rocks! Nevertheless, the outing was fun! The ICT family was almost complete, and a lot of ICS Faculty members also joined us. Lots of foods were prepared, lots of fruits and of course... DRINKS!!!! I had a couple of bottles of Tanduay Ice (red and blue), lucky for me I was able to take a nap, no DRUNKEN Princess this time, lol!

Sean is turning 1

It's almost a year since my last post... 'twas a busy year... Having Sean in our life makes all after work time a Sean-time... He is now turning 1 year old and we are all very very excited!!!

We chose to celebrate the party in Lipa City, Bats. ( hubby's hometown). We already booked his party at Shakey's and here are the details:

• theme is Justice League (Dad's fave) 
• we ordered the cake at Goldilocks (too bad, no JL theme at Red Ribbon)
•  btw, two Ninongs (Julz & LLoyd will consistently be in-charged of this), consistent coz they gave Sean the nicest DIAPER cake on his christening, love it!
• he will be wearing a Superman suite, we still have to buy him shoes that will match.
• one of his Ninongs (Migz) will be providing the tarp, I am already excited to check the layout, he did great on Sean's christening. 
• yesterday we saw this Coin Bank at Kodak with pictures on it, we might consider it for the giveaways, it only cost P30 and the size was not bad, i would love to see pics of Sean all over those coin banks. 
• i will also be preparing additional loot bags, i just reserved a set of 30 at Shakey's
• there will be a Mascot
• when I asked Abby (Shakeys' Party Organizer) about the program, I was told there will be 4 games, and 1 is for the adults, I decided to have all those 4 games for the kids, sometimes adults are difficult to invite into games...no time should we wasted, lol :)
• me and hubby Adrian will be wearing JL shirts, he will be BATMAN and maybe i'll wear FLASH.
• we might buy JL shirts for the grandparents too...

im a little bit OC, that'what my friends always told me... I want evrything to be perfect and organized as much as possible... But, due to time constraints and limited budget, some of those on my list might not materialize. I also have difficulty making up my mind...I easily change my mind into a lot of things...

• Before, I was so excited to have a clown, then suddenly after attending  Adrian's godson's party last week with a very Loud and Corny clown (his jokes are not for kids most of the time)... I totally erased clown on my list...
• I also had this option to have Sean's party at Max's, I had a meeting (work) there two weeks ago and I checked their party package and I was attracted by the food choices (i like their food way better than Shakey's)... But their theme is not really popular, somethin related to cars... and when I ask my friend's suggestions they told me that if it is a kid's party, it should not be at Max's
• i've read this blog http://www.chicsassymom.com (she's so cool and really sassy) and I got some party ideas from her...
• i'll be checking the Pizza Slice Mascot
• i'll ask Shakey's to add more sauce on their spag (i do agree, their spag is dry at times)

It's still two weeks to go, i just hope Sean and the guests will enjoy the party. I hope nobody will be late, coz its just for 2 hours... no Filipino time on Sean's birthday pls! haha...
